Sindhi Culture Day

Riverside Development Organization (RDO) celebrated Sindhi Cultural Day with great enthusiasm and fervor on December 5, 2024. The event was a combined celebration for formal and non-formal learners, and it was graced by the presence of the District Head of Sindh Education Foundation as the guest of honor. The main objective of celebrating Sindhi Cultural Day was to promote and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Sindh. The event aimed to provide a platform for students to showcase their talents, learn about their cultural roots, and develop a sense of pride and ownership towards their cultural identity. The event commenced with the recitation of Recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the recitation of Naat Shareef. The national anthem was played, and the audience stood in respect. 

Program Director RDO Nadeem Yousuf, welcomed the guests and provided an overview of the program. The students of Riverside Community High School presented a welcome performance, which was followed by a formal welcome address by the CEO RDO Munawar Gill. He officially welcomed the guest of honor and expressed his gratitude for their presence. Special highlight of the event was the presentation of  a model of the school by the 10th class students of Riverside Community High School. The model was a thoughtful gift to CEO RDO Munawar Gill, and it was presented to him as a token of appreciation and respect.  The students of Riverside Community High School  presented various cultural performances, including traditional Sindhi dances, songs, and skits. The performances were well-rehearsed and showcased the talents of the students. Munawar Gill presented a token of respect, an Ajrak, to the guest of honor. The guest appreciated the gesture and praised the efforts of Riverside Development Organization in promoting Sindhi culture. The guest of honor delivered key remarks, appreciating the efforts of Riverside Development Organization in organizing the event. They highlighted the importance of preserving cultural heritage and promoting cultural awareness among the younger generation. The students of Riverside Development Organization set up cultural stalls, showcasing traditional Sindhi handicrafts, clothing, and food. The stalls were well-organized, and the students enthusiastically sold homemade dishes and handicrafts to the guests.
